Experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon – Maternity Cover (4-6 months, possibility to be part time) Starting February 2027.

We are seeking an experienced equine veterinary surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team in Salisbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician who enjoys providing a high level of care whilst working with a collaborative and experienced team.

We are a forward-thinking practice that is part of the Altano group. We aim to provide the best possible service to our clients so invest in high quality (battery x-ray units / gastroscope / ultrasound scanners / shockwave / laser / dental equipment, facilities for IRAP/PRP etc) equipment. We have a hospital level laboratory on site and have an amazing office team to support the practice.

About the role

This role involves a varied ambulatory case load, including routine and emergency work. You'll be working with a diverse client base, from leisure horses and ponies, large competition yards, and busy studs. Delivering exceptional standards of veterinary care and client service.

About you

  • Experienced equine veterinary surgeon confident working independently
  • Passionate about providing exceptional care
  • Excellent communication skills and client relationship skills
  • Enjoys working as a part of a supportive and collaborative team
  • Holds a full UK driving license and eligible to work in the UK
